Exploris Middle Schoolers Run For Water in Haiti
Each year students at Exploris Middle School in Raleigh, NC participate in short, five-week electives in February and March. In 2010, 16 students signed up for a running elective just before the devastating earthquake in Haiti. After learning that access to clean water was an issue in Haiti even before the earthquake, the group decided to use their running to raise money to help the Blue Planet Network and our partner Pure Water for the World continue to work to provide clean water to the people of Haiti. The group set a goal of running 500 miles and raising $500 over five weeks. In the end they collectively ran over 500 miles and raised over $800.
